In March 2007, Versailles was formed by KAMIJO (ex LAREINE) and HIZAKI (ex SULFURIC ACID), then Jasmine You, who was from Jakura and HIZAKI’s solo project, HIZAKI grace project, joined. Lastly, TERU (ex. Aikaryu) and YUKI (ex. Sugar Trip), who were strongly recommended by the Rock May Kan, which is a long established venue in Tokyo, joined the band.KAMIJO and HIZAKI already had a concept of a new band since Autumn 2006 and took six months to find the appropriate members to express it. Their concept is “The absolute Youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extremes of aestheticism”.On the 29th of March, the names of the members were revealed, the name of the band being announced on March 30. On the 2nd of May, they posted a trailer for Versailles’s appearance on YouTube. Since then, they received a lot of proposals for tours and interviews from overseas. So far they have interviews with only international media/press.At the end of May, a German ..ary TV crew came to Japan and the band was interviewed. In June, the interviews with the German TV crews were on Sankei Newspaper (one of Japan's domestic newspapers) and Versailles was featured in the article. Because of the large amount feedback, “Versailles Band” was in Yahoo's top 5 search-keyword ranking. Since then they have been featured on TV as the hottest band.Versailles made their first appearance with a showcase on June 23rd, followed by their first performance on the 24th. On these dates they also distributed their very first single and DVD single, The Revenant Choir.

En marzo del 2007, Versailles fue formado por KAMIJO (ex LAREINE) y HIZAKI (ex SULFURIC ACID), entonces se les unió Jasmine You, quien era del trabajo en solitario de HIZAKI, HIZAKI grace project. Después se unieron a la banda TERU (ex Aikaryu) y YUKI (ex Sugar Trip), fueron recomendados por Rock May Kan el cual es un lugar establecido desde hace mucho tiempo en Tokio.

KAMIJO y HIZAKI ya tenían un concepto de una nueva banda desde el otoño del 2006 y les tomó seis meses para encontrar a miembros apropiados para expresarlo. Su concepto es “El absoluto sonido de Youshikibi (forma de la belleza) y los extremos del esteticismo”.

El 29 de marzo, los nombres de los miembros fueron revelados,el nombre de la banda fue anunciada el 30 de marzo.
El día dos de mayo, posaron para el trailer de Versailles que apareció en Youtube. Desde entonces, han recibido muchas proposiciones para giras y entrevistas de ultramar. Rápidamente tuvieron entrevistas sólo con la prensa y medios internacionales.

A finales de mayo, un equipo de televisón documental alemán vino a Japón y la banda fue entrevistada. En junio, las entrevistas con los equipos de TV alemanes estaban en el periódico de Sankei (uno de los periódicos domésticos de Japón) y Versailles fue protagonista en el artículo. Debido a la gran cantidad de la regeneración, "La banda Versailles" estaba en el top 5 de búsqueda en Yahoo. Se han aparecido desde entonces en la televisión como la banda más ardiente.

Versailles hizo su primera aprición en un evento el 23 de junio, seguido de una presentación el 24 de ese mes. En esas fechas también distrubuyeron su primer single y un DVD, "The Revenant Choir".
